There have been a lot of posts asking things like: "How many marks do I need for CSE in Blr?" or "Is XX Enough for ECE in MIT"?

To answer your questions, I made this website: [https://rankpredictor.in/met2026](https://rankpredictor.in/met2026)

You can enter your PCME percentage + predicted MET marks, and it predicts your approximate rank based on last year's result.

For example, with **90% in Boards**:

* Around **130 MET marks → CSE**
* Around **117 MET marks → ECE**

# How Manipal Calculates Your Rank (MET 2025)

In MET 2025, both **entrance exam scores** and **board exam results** are considered.

Because different boards have different difficulty levels, board percentages are converted into **band scores (0–10)** to standardize them.

# Board Percentage to Band Conversion:

* 95–100% → Band 10
* 90–94.99% → Band 9
* 85–89.99% → Band 8
* 80–84.99% → Band 7
* ...
* 50–54.99% → Band 1
* Below 50% → Not qualified

Your final band score is calculated as:

((M/240 \* 100)+(B/10 \* 100))/2

Where:

* **M** = MET score (out of 240)
* **B** = Board band (0–10)

# How the Predictor Works

The data used was compiled by polling students across different MET campuses and verifying their marks and ranks.

Using **polynomial regression**, we modelled the relationship between final band score and rank to generate predictions.

# FAQ

# How accurate is it?

The predictions are based on last year’s data. If someone got the same MET marks and board percentage as you last year, they would have received the same predicted rank.

For MET 2025, due to the merging of CS branches and other factors, the **average error was +25%** (meaning the predictor showed a slightly better rank than what students actually received).

# Possible Sources of Inaccuracy:

* Significant change in MET difficulty compared to last year
* Major increase or decrease in number of test-takers

Amount of marks needed for CSE, ECE, etc
