I might need to childproof my house

General

I never thought I would be that kind of cat owner that uses child locks to prevent their cat from getting into things. NEVER.

I have an 11 month old orange boy. He's been an absolute menace since I got him. He's mellowed out a bunch in the past few months since I neutered him and he started growing more so there's less screaming, biting and zoomies but the impulse control is still missing.

He's VERY curious so he tries to get into stuff recently. He tries opening the bathroom cabinets, closets, dresser drawers (actually succeeded with a few) and obviously doors (still a work in progress, he's teaching himself to push on the door handle). He's crazy smart and observant which works to my advantage most of the time, but sometimes it backfires spectacularly (like in this case).

Am i going to have to childproof my house????? Have I gotten to that point of being a cat parent??? Is this what my life is meant to be??

Just to clarify a couple things. I'm not exasperated or angry, it just feels kind of ridiculous and I laugh at the thought that I might have to put child locks on some of my furniture so my cat doesn't get in there. I'm also not concerned about him being in danger since all the chemicals and any dangerous stuff is kept well away from him where he does not have ANY access at all. This is just a funny situation to me.

Has anyone else childproofed their home because of their cat?? How did you get to that point? How are things now?
