Recently, I’ve been constantly getting ads on my Facebook feed from sites like Selecta Sabers, Nsabers, Neosabers, SWA, etc., all promoting what appears to be the exact same hilt — often using identical product photos.

On AliExpress, a full Proffie setup for this hilt sits around ~AU$270 with blade included. Meanwhile, some of these branded sites list what looks like the same product for $600–$700, sometimes framed as a massive “discount” (e.g. $1,100 marked down to $675). That price gap is huge.

For context, I actually own this hilt. I went the budget-friendly route: bought the empty hilt and installed a generic Xenopixel core myself when everything was on sale. It was basically plug-and-play, I didnt have to do anything complicated.

What I’m trying to understand is — why are there so many of these sites? When I first got interested in lightsabers, I stumbled onto one of these sites as well and almost walked away from the hobby entirely because the prices made it seem financially out of reach. If I hadn’t later discovered Aliexpress and experimenting with installing generic core into every empty hilts i can get my hands on, I probably wouldn’t have gotten into this hobby at all.

tdlr: Why theres so many dropshippers selling at bloated price in this hobby space?

Anyone knows why are there are so many lightsaber websites selling the same hilts at ridiculous rip off prices?
