Just watched the first 30 minutes of season 3

Your telling me that in an entire year Subaru didn't learn how to use the unseen hand, he didn't get any information on gluttony, and his relationship barley changed with Emillia? Why did more happen in like a month or two than what happened IN A YEAR? I should probably watch the rest of the first episode, but in 30 minutes I should be able to see something different about them.
