NIMCET 2026 Prep – Stuck at 300–400 in mocks, need genuine guidance

Experience/Tips

Hi everyone,

I’m preparing for NIMCET 2026 and I really need some honest advice from people who’ve been through this phase.

I’ve been giving full-length mock tests regularly, but my score is stuck between 300–400, and I just can’t seem to push beyond that range. The improvement feels very slow.

On top of that, I’m a regular college student, so managing:

  • College attendance
  • Internal exams & assignments
  • NIMCET coaching
  • Self-study

has been really overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like I’m doing everything but not doing anything effectively, and seeing people score 700+, 800+ really makes me wonder if I will be able to crack it all or not.

I want to ask:

  • Is 300–400 a decent starting range at this stage?
  • What helped you break through a score plateau?
  • Should I focus more on strengthening basics or just increase mock frequency?
  • How did you manage college + NIMCET prep without burning out?
  • Is coaching even necessary, or can disciplined self-study be enough?
  • What should be my focus areas for better prep

I’m especially struggling with time management and consistency. Any strategy suggestions, daily routine ideas, or subject-wise tips would mean a lot.

I am sure that I won't be able to score more than 200 marks in CUET PG, hence I think it's better to shift my focus from CUET PG to NIMCET completely

I’m serious about cracking NIMCET and getting into a good NIT, but right now I feel stuck.

Thanks in advance 🙏
