Keeping 8 month old entertained...

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me what they do to keep their 8 month olds entertained while getting ready/drying and straightening hair?

Up until now, I've been putting her in her cot (which is in our bedroom where I get ready, two steps away from my dressing table), with a small basket of toys to play with, and with me going to the cot occasionally to talk to her. That worked for a long time, but now that she is crawling and pulling herself to stand, it doesn't cut it anymore haha.

Our bedroom isn't baby safe enough to just let her cruise about on the floor, and it would need massive adjustment to make it safe enough for that.
