AITJ for telling my coworker I won't proofread her work anymore after she submitted something without my changes and then blamed me when it came back wrong?
Some context. I (29F) work in a mid-size communications team. My coworker Britt (31F) and I have always had a decent working relationship, nothing close but professionally friendly. About six months ago she started occasionally asking me to look over her written deliverables before she sent them up because she said she trusted my eye for detail. I said sure, happy to help. It was informal, not part of my job, just a collegue helping another out. I'd spend maybe ten to twenty minutes on something, leave tracked changes and comments, send it back. This worked fine for a few months. Then about six weeks ago she sent me a project brief to review. I went through it carefully, rewrote two sections that had factual inconsistencies, flagged a statistic that i was pretty sure was outdated, and sent it back with notes. The next day she submitted it to our director without accepting any of my changes or addressing a single comment. I only found out because our director forwarded it back to the whole team asking for corrections on exactly the two sections i had flagged. In that same email thread Britt replied and said the draft had been reviewed and she wasn't sure how those errors made it through. I waited until we were alone and asked her directly about it. She said she had been in a hurry and must have sent the wrong version, which I might have accepted except she also said "i did think your edits were a bit overcautious to be honest." So she had seen them. She just chose not to use them and then let the implication sit that the review had happened and passed. I told her calmly that i wouldn't be reviewing her work going forward. She seemed genuinly surprised, which surprised me. Am i the jerk for pulling back entirely instead of just talking to her about it more? TL;DR: Proofread coworker's doc as a favor, she ignored my edits, blamed the errors on unclear review process in front of our director, I stopped offering to help, she thinks I overreacted.
