Leather Insole Thickness

Is there a downside to a thinner 4-5oz leather insole versus 6-7oz leather insole? My JG Stockman Bronco are a little tighter then I want over the instep with the 6-7oz insole but fit perfect with the 4-5oz. Am I missing out on some additional comfort with the thicker material once it fully molds to my foot over the thinner? First time trying leather insoles so just not really sure what to expect once they break in. Thanks
