Where can I find progressive caffes and restaurants?

City stuff

I’m going back to Italy this year, and this time I’ll be spending a few more days in Rome. When I lived in the Marche region, I visited many progressive spaces around the country, specially in Bologna, such as cafés and restaurants.

I’m talking about places with a cultural atmosphere oriented around progressive values, such as diversity, class consciousness, sustainability, and so on. I’m looking for places beyond associations like Arci, and others.

As an example, I would mention Trattoria dell’Orsa in Bologna, which doesn’t charge a coperto, with a justification based on equality. And in Florence, there’s Trattoria Sabatino, an old and well-known restaurant that serves “cucina povera” at very good prices.
