What did you do? What have you done?

Like many of you I am still waiting for my results from my volunteer tryout and application. For those who have already received a role I am curious as to what made you stand out/be selected.

For example, do you have extensive volunteering experience? Do you already work in a related field? Did you email them profusely asking for an update?

I am just intrigued with the process and am looking to connect some dots.
