A few months ago I put up [WikidMaps.com](http://WikidMaps.com), a mapping tool I built to share RPG maps with my players. WikidMaps allows you to take any image you have an turn it into a scrollable, zoomable map you can add locations, quests, notes, lore, any type of detail you want to. You have a lot of control over who can see and edit what, so you can maintain complete control over your map or build it collaboratively with your players. Changes made to the map are visible to all viewers in real-time.

I noticed the last time I posted the site that a lot of users were uploading maps with resolutions too low to fully take advantage of the capabilities of the tool. In the weeks since, I've made several changes to fix this:

* I added smart upscaling for lower resolution maps. You can now upscale your map images up to 10x without pixelation so your maps can have higher zoom levels regardless of starting resolution. If you have existing maps that you'd like to be able to zoom further you can change the map scale in the map details.
* I reworked the map import to work better with the free and awesome [Azgaar Fantasy Map Generator](https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/). You can export maps from Azgaar as SVG and import them as high resolution maps in WikidMaps.
* I optimized the map renderer to work much more quickly. Even the largest maps should take less than 10 minutes to process.

Another recent feature addition is the ability to share maps with a link rather than inviting each member explicitly by email. Generate a link and drop it into your group chat and everyone can join instantly.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, questions, or feature ideas.
