Why do people expect you to grind heroics etc to get pre-raid BIS when the T4 raids are easy as hell? Dogmatic mentality is ruining classic

TBC

I love classic wow and TBC, but sometimes I feel its ruined by the whole community having a dogmatic way of looking at things. Like they are obsessed with researching and learning what is technically best and sap out the fun of the game. Then they get bored in 1+ months after new content (even new expac) and repeat every time there is something else thats new. I know its been said before, but classic and TBC just aren't designed to be played with this mentality. It will inevitably be boring quickly for at least 80% of players by following the herd mentality, yet everyone still does. I'm a retail hater to be honest, but I can acknowledge that retail is actually miles better to play if you have this mentality when it comes to wow -- because its actually designed to facilitate it.

In terms of the actual title, it literally makes no sense to mindlessly grind heroics when the reward is sweatily raiding kharazan with other sheep and clearing the whole thing quickly with minimal challenge. Once you have done that, and then got raid BIS, then many people quit until new content comes out. Like what is actually the point? Why is that fun? There is no challenge what so ever, the only challenge is avoiding boredom as you grind this linear path that the game didnt even create, but rather the community created and sort of enforces on people as a condition to properly participate. Imagine how much more fun it would be to play in a non-linear way, where you organically experience content and actually feel a challenge (an experience which the game is able to give you and even designed for). In other games the 'technically best' way is usually 'cheesing' but in wow its the norm. I feel in OG classic/TBC and also private server days people played with more of the spirit of the game. But now it all just feels cold and heartless. Levelling as honestly become my favourite part of the classic experience as its the only thing that still hasnt been ruined by this stuff.
