This game is brutal when it comes to punishing your mistakes.
This isn't a complaint post but definitely a lesson learned.
Had a pretty OP necro cat.
- Item: Forgot the name but it takes away some movement and charisma I think but makes you immune to injuries.
- Passive: When you go down get haunt and get 6 corpse HP.
- Passive: When you go down deal 6 damage to enemies and allies heal 6HP.
- Ability: Souldrain? Deal 10 damage to enemies while down and if you kill them revive.
- Ability: Seppuku? Down yourself.
This led to a pretty overpowered combo. Seppuku into soul drain into revive into seppuku into soul drain so on and so on. With the corpse HP you are basically always safe, and with the passive damage and heal when you go down you clear the board pretty quickly with your other cats remaining pretty healthy.
Problem?
I'm bad at reading passives. During the above cycle my necro cat is downed near a zombie cat. I am still new enough to the game where I don't really know the enemies and their quirks off by heart. Zombie cats eat corpses to get stronger, doesn't matter about the corpse hp. Watching my OP cat disappear that quickly was sobering.
If you are newish like me please remember to read the enemies behaviours.
Loving the game though and still beat that cat that dodges everything and possesses you. (what the fuck actually is this boss :/)
