Sigilla: A privacy-first Read-It-Later app with built-in Spaced Repetition (Client-side imports)
I’ve spent some time building Sigilla, a read-it-later and organization tool designed specifically to fit into PKM workflows.
I know the world probably doesn't need "yet another" bookmarking tool, but I wanted something that felt secure, distraction-free, and actually helped me remember what I read instead of just hoarding links.
Some core things I focused on:
- Client-side imports: You can import your massive Pocket or Instapaper backlogs directly in the browser. No server ever touches or processes your files.
- Spaced Repetition: Built-in support to actually test and retain the knowledge you capture.
- Organization: Tags, metadata, and "Collections" which act like playlists for your reading.
- Distraction-free: A clean reader view that normalizes and deduplicates your links.
I built this to solve my own workflow. It isn't trying to be an "Obsidian killer" at all. Rather, it's built to be a secure companion to your existing system, allowing you to export your knowledge freely.
If you have a moment to look at it, I would love some feedback on the workflow and the spaced repetition integration from people who actually use PKM systems daily.
Thanks!
