Help!
I’m hoping someone somewhere on the interweb can help figure out what’s going on with our vehicle, since everyone we have spoken to so far is stumped!
I have a 2008 jeep liberty. Has been so reliable until recently. She is starting to die on us while driving. No check engine light on. Only tire pressure sensor light since one sensor is out somewhere. When she dies, the traction control light comes on (twice now the oil light also came on when it died but not before hand). The oil burns a lot so we top it off every couple of weeks and check weekly to net let it get low. She has almost 233,000 miles on it. We just replaced the battery and plugs and wires.
It seems to die mostly when going slightly downhill and decelerating like approaching a red light or a round about. It has died a couple times idling at a red light or just driving down a road. The traction control light comes on, and we lose power steering and power all together. Pull over and shut it off and she turns right back on. We also can’t seem to turn the fan down lower than whatever it’s set at when the vehicle is started, otherwise that seems to kill the engine also. Any thoughts or ideas?
