Looking to purchase a 4.6L S197 and I have a few questions

I've done a good bit of searching on here so most of my questions have been answered, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on a few things. I'm looking to buy a 2006-2009 MT to retro-store in my garage. Looking to turbocharge it and drive it long distance so reliability is a priority.

1. It seems like a big concern for this generation is the front steering setup. Is this something that wears down with time or goes out suddenly? And is it worth it to pick up brand new parts or would used work well?

2. How durable is the transmission? What are some ways I can keep it healthy?

3. I've heard the stock LSD clutches can wear down over time. Is it better to upgrade it or swap it with another stock unit? Also would it be usable if I swapped in 3.50 rear gear ratio?
