Help With My Tree Structures

I have been following a video by the YouTuber A.C.E on how to make custom trees. I made my structures and did everything ALMOST to a T...except he says in the video to add the "tree" to a block sapling. I didn't do that since I was making two variations (one regular size and one bigger with a smaller chance of spawning), so I added my features to the sapling PLANT. Thing is, I keep snagging whenever I try to create a new world. Other than the plant vs block thing, what else did I do wrong?
