Lion awakening dos and don’ts?

I’ve been lion dancing for a long time with my kung fu school and I finally pulled the trigger on purchasing my own lion. Problem is, I’ve only ever seen one awakening ceremony in person. I know the general routine of an awakening, but I have a few questions on the smaller details:

-What should I dot the eyes/ears/mirror/etc. with? I know it has to be a red ink, and I’ve seen people use red cinnabar or rooster blood (neither of which I will be using lol), but is any type of red pigment or paint appropriate here?

-Is there a specific type of ribbon that should be tied to the horn?

-Is there anything I should definitely NOT do during the awakening ceremony? I know not to jump over the lion or its tail, but is there anything else that I should be aware of?
