Randomly upgraded to Gold

When I looked at the app this morning, I discovered I had been randomly upgraded to gold for this year. In 2025, I earned silver medallion and was about 1000 mqd from gold at the end of the year.

I recently upgraded my Delta Amex gold to Delta platinum for the mqds this year (as in two weeks ago). Would they have applied those mqds to last year? I can't figure it out otherwise.
