ITs in the Army / Cross-Branching
As the title states, the subject of this post is ITs in the Army. I'd like to know what the life is like.
Currently making moves to cross-branch from IT in the Navy to IT in the Army as an E5.
Recruiter said I'll likely keep my rank, have to go to basic as an NCO (it's easier to go as one), and that I will even be up for applying for warrant since I'll be at 6 years of prior enlistment when all is said and done.
Just wondering how the IT life is, and if this cross-branching stuff isn't just so he can meet his quota. No offense to him, but the Navy recruiter lied about almost everything, and I don't want that same mistake again, although the Army recruiter does seem more trustworthy.
Appreciate any advice related to the subject, even if it's to tell me I shouldn't do it. Although, I'd at least like some reasoning as to why I shouldn't.
