Temps are creeping up. Is the "Pea Method" actually bad for modern CPUs? Thinking of switching to Thermal Grizzly.

My Ryzen 7 5800X3D used to idle at 40°C, but now it's sitting at 55°C and hitting 90°C under load. I think the stock paste has dried up.

I’m about to order some new paste, but I’m confused by the application debates.

The Debate:

  • The Paste: Everyone says Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is the best, but I heard it dries out (pump-out effect) quickly if your CPU runs hot (>80°C). Should I just get the cheaper Arctic MX-6 for longevity?
  • The Method: With these new rectangular CPUs, is the "Pea in the middle" method enough? Or do I have to manually spread it with a spatula to cover the whole IHS?

New Tech? Also, I keep seeing people talk about this "Honeywell PTM7950" thermal pad that turns into liquid. Is that safer than paste?

I really don't want to take my cooler off again for another 2 years.
