Epson made my R3000 printer go obsolete. Will the same happen to a P900 if I buy it?

Hi folks,

My venerable R3000 printer was doing quite well until Epson decided to discontinue producing the ink for this printer. Yes, there are re-manufactured and/or refillable cartridges available on line but I've not had good luck with any of them.

I am considering replacing the R3000 with the P900 with the ten ink system. My concern is that Epson will do the same thing to this printer as they did with the R3000.

I can't get a clear answer from Epson on how long they design their support infrastructure around their products. Does anyone here have any idea of how long Epson supports their products?
