[TOMT] Low Budget Indie Film I Found on Hulu Between 2020-2023

Pending

Update : Movie is more of a micro budget movie. And no big name actors.

Just a heads up my memory of this movie is a BLUR but it was such a comforting watch. This is going to be a reallly hard one but I am pretty desperate to remember and would love to rewatch this movie.

Director was a woman and I remember this because I wanted to look her up on IG and her most recent post at the time was her sharing that this movie is her first film. Unfortunately my perception of time is horrible but this movie had to been from 2020-2023 when I watched it on Hulu.

Genre: drama/comedy

Plot: A woman I’d say in her 20’s goes back to her hometown and stays at her childhood home after either her mom or her sister passed. The house is almost like a cabin and in the woods/surrounded by nature. She goes back to basically find herself again and grieve. While staying there her best friend or sister shows up. Could of been her sister’s best friend too if it was the sister who passed. I can’t remember exactly who it is but they share this grief together. You see them basically bump heads at first but the entire film is them reconnecting. I remember at one point one of the girls boyfriends ends up coming to stay with them too. And unfortunately this is all I remember of the plot.

-Movie cover caught my attention and influenced me to watch it. If I’m not mistaken it had vibrant colors and very artsy like a painting. Maybe had a woman, maybe had trees or some sort of scenic view. It was very psychedelic looking I’d say.

-Directed by a woman and her first film

-Cast is very small I really think it was just the 2 girls and one guy and MAYBE another guy, I can’t remember if both of them had boyfriends that just showed up but I know for a fact one of them did.

This movie was honestly just so comforting and unfortunately I recently lost 2 people close to me and I think it’s rare to find films about grief that is light hearted , it was honestly such a good watch and made me laugh. Thank you in advance for any suggestions that may help <3
