This inevitable ruin
at the start of January I began reading the series. it was one of the only times that I got the same kind of emotions that I originally felt when I read the Harry Potter books as a kid. Needless to say, I practically threw my money at the bookstore. it only took me about a month to get near the end of book 7 but then I hit a wall. Now it is the end of February and I still haven't finished book 7. As you can imagine, since I was previously completely obsessed, I've had some time to think about why I stopped reading near the end of book seven.
There were a few things that turned me off. One of them would be the fact that I did not like the concept of the war mages. While some of the random situations in the story are great. They came in at the end of the war without even having their own territory. The whole thing just screamed plot armor in terms of just giving Carl something else to do. A new problem to solve.
I also found it kind of difficult to keep track of the number of charters and found myself pausing multiple times to try and figure out who some one is because I could not remember or visualize them. if I cannot visualize them the movie in my mind and flow is destroyed. Tell me what you guys think? did anyone else experience this??
