Should l Venture Out?

A few months ago I was among many to be forced to switch to Windows 11. As a long time Windows user, I cannot express how disappointed I was with their product. This lead me on a hunt to find a better operating system. I’ve known about Linux for some time now, but have always thought it was for the more technologically advanced user. Come to find out, there’s countless user SCREAMING to the world that this is a highly false rumor!

After much consideration I decided it couldn’t hurt to try out Ubuntu on an old laptop. I was immediately impressed with this OS when it brought my old slow laptop back to life! I started learning the basics of terminal, downloaded apps from there and even ran automatic commands to disable my faulty touchscreen (thanks to the support I found on Reddit). Which shows the BIGGEST advantage to Ubuntu. There is an overwhelming amount of user support for Ubuntu. This is perhaps the est selling point to use this OS.

This left me wondering, “What do the other distros have to offer?” I decided to give Bazzite a try. At first, I really liked the interface; however, when I started trying to do more complex operations, I kept getting stuck and couldn’t find any support for my issues on the internet. After troubleshooting for a few days I made the choice to go back to Ubuntu and felt back at home!!

This leads me to my big question. Should I just stick with Ubuntu for a while and enjoy the support while I continue to learn Linux? Or am I missing something that’s available with other distros?
