What's the point of excluding large parts of your audience?
With the recent announcement of RWBY coming to Pluto TV, many people, myself as a European included, were understandably annoyed. Because this annoucement only applies in. As far as I know, there is no legal way right now to watch the show outside of it. In Germany season 1-4 are on Amazon Prime apparently, but only those.
I love this show and I really want to support it financially by watching it on streaming sites. I also want to buy merch, but can't. And it's not just annoying, it makes no sense. There is a large part of your fanbase, aka the people who give you money, that can't spend money on your product. Now I don't know how big the international fanbase is and my numbers aren't necessarily, but when I look at my posts and comments, only about 50-60 percent of views are from the US. That's a lot of people you're neglecting.
Now I don't want to sound like a hater. I'm glad RWBY and its creators have found a new home and I'm glad it's a well known, reputable publisher and I'm SO SO SO glad we're getting volume 10. I get they're probably still figuring things out with Viz while also producing the new volume. Just don't forget us. We love RWBY too.
