"Battery Temeperature Maintenance" menu is only for mid/long travels?

Accordingly manual, this is under "Schedule a Trip" and only acts like a pre heater (or cold?) when you are planning to do a long travel.

So, this is no benefit outside this purpose? If I keep disable, during fast DC charges, It will keep/control the battery temps regardless of this option, right?

Has anyone know more details about this option in specific? (if there is anything...) The manual is pretty good, but sometimes lacks details
