Preface this by saying I'm 23f and I'm not asking for diagnosing just advice on where to start with skin products to help the pimples heal/prevent and also skin texture particularly on my forehead.

I've had had acne my whole life but it's gotten worse as I've gotten older - used to be a few pimples on my chin every now and then but it spread to my jaw and after trying duac from my gp a few years ago it exploded all over my cheeks so I have some marks left. I still don't get much acne on my cheeks, but I have a cluster atm as you can see.

I'm pretty sure I have perioral dermatitis; I tried 2 months of zero therapy and it kind of helped but I was still getting new pimples so felt it wasn't really helping so I'm back to skincare.

I've just started a gentle skincare routine again (it's been 1 week) as you can see in the last picture. I do once daily in the PM after my shower; aveeno calm+ restore oat cleanser and cica daily repairing gel-cream. I've also bought the eucerin sun protection oil control dry touch sunscreen - but since my skin seems to be congested, the uv is low and I don't touch my face in the mornings I haven't used it yet.

These are new products to me; I used to use cerave the hydrating cleanser and moisturiser but I ran out and felt like they did nothing anyway so I bought these.

I'm 80% sure sugar is a main cause of my acne and so I've been trying to cut out inflaming foods. I definitely notice a difference when I eat whole foods for a few days vs like now when I've been eating ultra processed foods etc. I also drink a ton of water. I also have a bad habit of picking my face absent mindedly but I'm working on not touching my face at all throughout the day, but I recently relapsed with this - I think you can see the ones by the corner of my mouth are kind of crusty and yellow :/

I know one week is nothing in terms of seeing any kind of progress - but I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations that they think will help me or routine help as well. I think I should go up to doing my routine twice a day but I'm just scared of inflaming my skin so I'm unsure. I've been getting really down about my skin recently and I just want to feel like I'm doing something about it rather than blindly trying things and I don't know what I'm doing.
