Is med/dent worth it ?
I’m in year 12 and at the start of the year i was so sure i wanted to study medicine/denta but after doing mocks, and seeing people with amazing stats getting 0 offers after working really hard and spending all summer on the UCAT and PS only not to end up doing well on the UCAT and getting rejections is really discouraging.
( I’m also not someone who’s naturally smart I need to put in a lot of effort to do averagely well. )
It’s making me really rethink my choices, because I don’t know if I wanna do all that just to end up getting 4 rejections and then reapplying which feels like another burden in itself. However I don’t really know what else I would study and I did a few days work experience at the hospital which I really enjoyed so idk. Anyone who’s been through this process ( which i’m guessing most people on this subred ) is it worth it ? Or should I pursue another career and make life easier for myself ?
