[Founder] Just reached 97% funding for the 2442 G.C.T. – A journey from a vintage pocket watch to a modern 24h tool watch.

Hi everyone, Martin here, founder of MARTINNY CO.

I’m an engineer by day and a watch enthusiast by heart. Today, my project just reached 97% funding, and I wanted to share this milestone with the community that has given me so much feedback during the development phase.

The name MARTINNY actually represents both me and my wife, Winny. She has been the one behind the camera, helping me document this entire journey—from early sketches and CAD files to the actual working prototypes I’m holding today.

I’ve just put together a short video to share the "Why" behind this 24-hour concept. It covers:

  • The vintage 24h pocket watch that started it all.
  • My engineering approach: focusing on functional clarity (no date, no distractions).
  • The transition from digital CAD drawings to physical prototypes.

You can see the full design story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J1kkeNKMB8

As an engineer, I believe in a thoughtful, step-by-step process. We are now incredibly close to the finish line, and seeing this vision resonate with so many people is truly meaningful.

Since I want to respect the sub’s rules, I won’t post direct funding links here. If the design speaks to you, you can find more details through the link in my Reddit bio or by searching "MARTINNY" on Kickstarter.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the 24-hour layout or the engineering process in the comments!

Best, Martin
