Are guides needed for Lama temple and Confucian temple?

Hi guys.

Will be visiting Beijing in the first week of April.

Can't read or speak anything other than English unfortunately.

Are those two temples perfectly do'able without a (group) tour guide?

I am struggling to find an English-speaking tour group for both temples.
