Finally opened my own bakery and kind of surreal

Discussion

So I did a thing… I opened a small bakery a few weeks ago.

Baking has always been my thing. I was the kid who’d rather stay home and experiment with cookie recipes than go out. Even when I had full-time jobs, I baked on the side, like birthdays, holidays, and random stress-baking nights. At some point, I realized it wasn’t just a hobby. It was the only kind of work that didn’t drain me.

For years, I told myself it wasn’t practical to try to make a living out of it. Steady paycheck, benefits, all the responsible adult stuff. But the idea wouldn’t leave me alone. After a lot of overthinking (and spreadsheets), I finally signed a lease and went for it.

It’s a tiny spot. Nothing fancy. My mornings start ridiculously early, I’m constantly dusted in flour, and I still panic daily about whether I made too much or not enough. But when someone takes a bite, and you see that little “oh wow” face? That’s everything.

Now I’m at the stage where I need more people to actually find us. Word of mouth has been great, but I know that only goes so far. I’ve been looking into ways to get us showing up online and even considering getting some help with SEO, and I found PiggybankSEO while researching, and I’m debating whether that’s the next smart step.

It’s all still new and a little scary, but honestly… I’ve never felt more aligned with what I’m doing.
