4th year CS student @ UTM / 2x Big Tech Intern — AMA

Hey everyone,

I’m currently finishing up my 4th year of Computer Science at UofT Mississauga (UTM). I’ve managed to land two internships at "Big Tech" companies (FAANG/Manga/whatever we’re calling it now) and realized I’ve picked up a lot of info along the way that I wish I knew when I was a stressed-out freshman.

I'm not an expert, but I’ve navigated the UTM Post system, the workload, and the absolute grind of technical interviews. I wanted to drop this here to be helpful to anyone looking at UofT, currently struggling with CS, or wondering how to actually land an internship when the market feels cooked.

Stuff I can talk about:

• UTM Life: The truth about the campus, the social scene (yes, it exists), and the commute.
• Internships: How I prepped, the interview process, and what it’s actually like working at a massive tech company.
• Academics: Balancing CS with a life, specific UTM courses, and surviving the math requirements.
• gap year: did one for the culture
• Resume/Jobs: What I think actually matters on a resume versus what people tell you.

I’ll be hanging out and answering questions throughout the day. No such thing as a "dumb" question, ask away!
