50 year old Tuxedo coat

I am shopping for a jacket identical to my prom outfit from 50 years ago for a class reunion. Believe it or not I found - two both are probably old rentals. I wear a size 40 jacket. One is 39 and the other is 41. Has sizing changed? What size would be my best bet?
