Lotro in 2026

I remember playing Lotro a bit when the game got releases in a friend's account ansd lately been on a Tolkien mood so pondering trying it again.

But I was wondering whats the state of this game after turbine died?

Lots of mmo that somehow still alive from that era, are on barebones lifesupport, and sometimes not even that with systems and interfaces broken due to neglect (looking at some funcom mmos for example). Frankly I wouldn't even be suprised if hackers inserted spyware into them and none would notice.

Looking at lotro it does seem to be in active development which surprises me pleasantly, but also browsing this sub I see a lot of people complaining about lack of response from support and stuff broken and unedressed for years. So I wanted to probe the active people here on the state of the game?

On an aside note If I hop in it will probably be on an EU RP server, unless its so depopulated that I am strongly advised against.
