TIL there’s a place where lightning strikes almost constantly. Over Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela, a phenomenon called “Catatumbo lightning” produces lightning storms up to 260 nights a year. The area around Lake Maracaibo holds records for the highest concentration of lightning on Earth.
