Does making neo/cyber punk make me compete with Ai?

I've been fascinated by urban designs and characters and I wanted to change my art path and work on this but I am terribly insecure to the tones of Ai generated shit that's out there already creating futuristic presence and elements of the future. Is it worth pursuing? If yes how can I train myself?
