What's the crack with Blood Incantation?

I've seen them mentioned over the past couple of years as if Absolute Elsewhere is the best metal album of the 20s and they're absolutely deified, but then now I'm seeing they're a bit more of a love/hate thing and a meme and the album only has an average rating of 70% on metal archives.

Have I missed something?
