They have no critical thinking skills

Talking anything on the news these days with my AD is drinking gasoline straight from the pump and igniting a lighter down my throat. It’s genuinely so painful because my AD doesn’t seem to hold an opinion on certain topics and just tells me: “He’s saying the news”, but he doesn’t give an opinion. Then when I share my opinion on the topic, he seems to be antagonistic to it or rejects in some way, it’s really odd.

Just today, I said the U.S. govt shouldn’t funding or selling weapons to any terrorists or cartels given the recent news in Mexico and that if they are, that’s bad. Pretty straightforward, right? Then my AD chimes in and says that’s how the U.S. makes money and if they didn’t, they have no other way to do so in regard to selling weapons.

I disagree and say, there’s other ways to make money and the U.S. could easily invest in it be it agriculture or something else. And hell there’s other countries or entities you could sell to if you wanted to.

Then my AD starts talking about distributors and how they control where it goes and I say: Find a different distributor or something. Eventually it becomes like this for a good back and forth and then we tire out and he leaves to his little office of the house.

It’s like this every time, but I wish he would share a genuine well thought opinion instead of being antagonistic to what I say. It’s odd, I can suggest an opinion or idea, but he won’t like it and reject it without considering it. It’s something I genuinely hate.
