Is my lawyer introducing unwanted conflict? Answering the complaint

My spouse served me and now i am answering; we both have lawyers. My spouses requests werent anything odd 50/50 custody and equitable split of assets along with the basic jargon. I told my lawyer I was ok with that stuff but I did mention I wanted primary decision making in religion - they asked me if I wanted primary decision making in any areas, I did not know about that stuff.

Anywho they make the answer document and it states that I want primary physical custody and to keep the home. Neither of the things I really want as I would prefer the payout on the home and maybe to split with the spouse since we have girls and boys kids. Is this just more drama or are they playing a long game?
