adviseeee on bio and chem

🤚 Asking For Advice/Help

ok so is anyone else fighting for their life with O Level bio and chem or is it just me šŸ’€

like chemistry??? why is there SO MUCH to remember. organic, salts, periodic trends, moles, random definitions that have to be worded EXACTLY like the mark scheme?? i’ll understand the concept and then still lose marks because i didn’t say it in ā€œcambridge languageā€ 😭

and bio is even more evil because it feels easy until you check the marking scheme. i’ll write a whole paragraph explaining somethin and then the examiner is like ā€œno words used? no mark.ā€ like excuse me???

i started recently and my first few were… humbling i realised just reading notes isn’t doing anything so i switched to more question practice. i found these playlists that are mostly exam-style MCQs + structured questions instead of long boring lectures, which actually helped a bit because they explain how to answer the way examiners want:

chem playlist:

it’s more focused on solving and breaking down past paper type questions which i think is where i struggle the most.

but still… HOW are you guys actually mastering structured questions??, do you have any other channels that you can share with me??? - help please

  • do you literally memorize mark schemes?
  • how many past papers did it take before your marks improved?
  • how do you not panic in timed conditions??
