It has been a year since the divorce. A year of working on me, of being alone with myself. I look in the mirror. There’s a bit of gray in my brown hair now, a sad reminder that I’m not in my 20s anymore, and that dating will be a bit different this time around. But my body is reasonably fit, and I guess for 45 I look ok.

I take another sip of coffee and stare back down at my phone. So I’m supposed to download an app and start, what, swiping for love? Is that how this works these days?

Another sip, another sigh. Ok. Let’s do this. Now, what am I looking for? I set my parameters as wide as possible, since I really have no idea. Ages 18-55. Let’s see what happens.
