I think I was in hypnagogic state but I don't know what to do afterward
I have been trying to shift for four months. There were some close moments and intense symptoms during a few attempts, and now I feel like I just need a final push.
This afternoon, I fell asleep while listening to a shifting subliminal playlist. I woke up after about 15 or 20 minutes, and the playlist had finished. Then I removed my earphones, set the intention to shift to my waiting room, and relaxed my whole body. After a few seconds, my heartbeat became faster. I felt vibrations and a tickling sensation all over my body. I thought they were symptoms, so I tried to affirm.
Then I started hearing voices, both male and female. I do not remember exactly what they were saying, but it sounded like random chemistry equations and formulas I have been learning. Since my eyes were closed, I also saw random images, including a scary demon-like face. I tried my best to ignore them and continue affirming, but the voices became louder and faster. I felt like I was going crazy, so I forced myself to wake up completely.
When I searched about this experience on Google, it said I was in a hypnagogic state. I have aphantasia, which means I am unable to visualize. So should I keep using the affirmation “I am in my waiting room,” or should I use narrative affirmations where I describe my waiting room and the sensations?
It is not the first time this has happened. It occurred two or three times last month and again this month when I tried to fully relax myself after waking up halfway.
