Why do sellers accept returns to not pick them up?

I know i’ll be refunded but i just don’t understand, why ask for a return if you have no intention of picking it up. Twice this has happened now lol, i don’t get it.

The seller loses their item and money, so why not just refund in the first place. Very strange 🤷🏼‍♀️
