Triumph Speed 400 – Cam Chain Tensioner + Brake Issues at 1700 km?

Street

Hey everyone,

I own a Triumph Speed 400 (2 months old, 1700 km). After my first service, I started noticing a metallic rattling sound that feels like cam chain noise. The showroom checked it and said they need to replace the cam chain tensioner under warranty (without opening the engine).

Has anyone else faced this issue? Did replacing the tensioner completely solve the noise?

Also, I’m feeling something slightly odd while cruising — not exactly brake dragging, but it feels like the bike isn’t pushing as much for the given RPM. Service center suggested replacing rear brake pads. That feels early at 1700 km.

Questions:

Is cam chain tensioner issue common on early batches?

Did replacement fix it permanently?

Is rear brake pad wear normal this early?

Is slight front brake noise normal on this bike?

Would appreciate feedback from other Speed 400 owners.

Thanks!
