Interview with Mikael

NSFWSpoilerAstrea's Broken Heart

February 19, 2026 by Elena🌹ABH

Tea or coffee? I prefer coffee in the morning and tea in the evening.

If it's not a secret, what hair care products do you use? How do you achieve such divine curls? Or is it genetics? Thank you for the compliment. It's a characteristic of my appearance—a well-groomed look that doesn't require much effort. Although, to be honest, I enjoy this kind of routine.

Mikael, could you please tell me how you feel about the fans shipping you and Malek? 😊 Malek's provocative remarks probably sparked all this. And I think he was going for something similar. I would advise you not to give in to his provocations.

Mikael, how much do you like to shower? I prefer a bath.

If you had known from the start what would happen to Audrey if you hired her, would you still have hired her? Of course I would. If she hadn't come to our agency, we wouldn't have been able to protect her. If Raphael hadn't intervened, Audrey would likely have been killed by a patient the very day he attacked her at Goodlam.

What did you feel when you first saw Audrey? I felt the magnitude of the responsibility we'd taken on by allowing someone to cross our threshold.

Mikael, what were your parents like? Who are you most like? My father was strict but fair, my mother was loving but reserved in her emotions. They were the best role models. I'd like to believe I've taken something from each of them.

What was your relationship with Naum like as a child or teenager? When were you last together, anyway? Our age difference prevented us from becoming best friends. I tried to protect Naum from trouble from the moment he was born. He always turned to me as his older brother for advice until he grew older and became distant.

What kind of music does Mikael prefer? I prefer exclusively instrumental music without vocals. The specific style depends on the goal and mood.

There's this thing where a villain will sacrifice everything for you, and a hero will sacrifice you for the whole world. If the choice had been with Audrey, what would you have done? I wouldn't sacrifice Audrey.

Mikael, when's your honeymoon? I hope soon.

Mikael, were you always so adamant about Felonia? Did your attitude towards her change after Audrey's death and joining the Shephamalum squad? Put yourself in my shoes. I was given a former enemy to serve under my command, and naturally, my attitude toward her couldn't be entirely benevolent. And believe me, Felonia didn't feel any tender feelings towards me in return. But, of course, time and the events we've experienced have made us both see each other differently. Felonia's past may disgust me, but her present makes her one of us. And now I'll side with her without a second thought if necessary.

Mikael, how did you tolerate all of David's antics? I made allowances for his appearance and background.

If you could go on a honeymoon with Audrey, which country would you choose? I think it would be right to take her to a warmer climate. It's hard to say whether it will be the world of immortals or mortals—it depends on where we end up.

What kind of pets would you describe the Astreans as? There were times when "Astrea" reminded me of a basket of puppies...

Was it difficult to adapt to life on Earth? No. Many human discoveries that would have surprised us were happening before our eyes.

Have you ever unconsciously read Audrey's thoughts? Often her thoughts were written all over her face, and it was impossible not to read them...

Where did you get information about Audrey before inviting her to Astrea? From Raphael. He predicted her arrival, her connection with the beast, and the coming danger.

Do you think duty and love can truly coexist? I'd like to believe they can.

If you were allowed to make one selfish choice, what would it be? I've already made one such choice—bringing Audrey back to life.

Mikael, what's your favorite colour and why? Dark blue. Perhaps it reminds me of the inexorable power of my native skies.

What do you smell like? What scent? Whose Astrean’s scent (besides Audrey) do you absolutely adore? I'm sure Malek's is on that list. Audrey claims she detects citrus notes on me. I haven't sniffed Malek, but, by the way, the abyss from which he emerged has no scent at all.

Is it possible to ask David more questions? David only has 12 questions, while the others have 45+. I'm sure David would be happy to answer 145.

Mikael, why were you appointed as the head of Astrea? I'm afraid you shouldn't be asking me that question. I was simply presented with a fait accompli at the time.

What did you talk about in private with Malek? Malek and I often discuss our future strategy. That time was no exception.

Mikael, I was wondering how you manage to remain so calm. I think it's my temperament, my military training, and the number of years I've lived. I've seen so much that it's unlikely something insignificant could throw me off course.

Do you like bubble baths? If so, which ones? I like bubble baths with floral and fruity scents.

Mikael, would you like children? If so, would you like a girl or a boy, and why? I think so. I'd like to have heirs. Boy or girl—it doesn't really matter.

Did Mikael have a serious relationship before Audrey? I'd rather not publicize that private part of my past.

Do you miss Naum? Do you regret not helping your brother? Would you like to go back in time and prevent his death? Why can't he be resurrected like Audrey? Shephamalum doesn't need to make that deal again. We're all already in his debt. Besides, Naum got to where he ended up on his own. He followed his own path and was perfectly aware of where it would lead him. Of course, I miss my brother and regret many things, but I can't live his life for him.

Have you ever been to a club in all your time among mortals? I suspect you're talking about nightclubs like the ones David frequented? In that case, my answer is no.

Please answer this: if fate had decreed that you were born on earth as an ordinary person, how and where would you want to live your life (country or a specific city, profession, hobbies)? I think I could devote my life to medicine. Open my own clinic. The country doesn't really matter, but I prefer quiet, moderately cold places like Norway…

Would you choose eternal life with Audrey, but without children? Or a mortal life with Audrey, but with children? Perhaps the first option. I want to spend eternity with her.

Was it hard to get used to being the boss of the Astreans? Such an interesting team has been assembled, after all. Yes, very interesting. I think my experience helped me adapt to the new conditions. I've managed immortals before, leading them into battle.

Do you miss your deceased parents? I do. But so many years have passed since their death that thoughts of them no longer bring me pain, only a gentle sadness.

They say you know everything that goes on at the agency. How? Sometimes, just looking around and listening is enough.

Did you know how Audrey thought of you even before your relationship? Did you notice her loving glances, her thoughts wandering off in the wrong direction? It wasn't hard to guess.

Can you play a musical instrument? Unfortunately, no.

If you were given the chance to forget everything, would you agree? No. I see no reason to want that.

Do you have your own home in Heaven? Where did you live before your mission on Earth? Our family nest remains in Heaven. I'm afraid, however, that it's no longer fit for habitation.

About your temperament. How often do you lose your temper, but do you control your emotions? Have you ever wanted to lose your temper and smash everything around you? I'm so used to controlling my emotions that I can't even imagine a situation in which I would allow myself to smash something...

How many brothers and sisters do you have, or is it just Naum? Only Naum.

How did the appraiser position for Audrey come about? We based it on her specialty and our work. We wanted to gently introduce her to a new world.

How often did you get to escape to your little house in the woods? Too rarely.

Tenderness or passion? Passion.

Please tell us what you were like as a child? What games did you like to play when you were little, what entertainment did you prefer? I preferred to spend time reading, I loved going hunting with my father, and then helping my mother in the kitchen, preparing the game we caught. I can imagine that I wasn't the most sociable child before Naum was born.

How jealous are you in a relationship? For example, if a guy or girl starts flirting with Audrey, how would you react? Would you take any action? I'm quite jealous. I certainly won't embarrass Audrey or make a scene—that's beneath my dignity, and Audrey's. But a guy or girl won't be left without a private conversation. And how that conversation goes depends on the intelligence of the other person.

Remember that dance in Episode 8 of Season 1? You allowed yourself an 'unusual liberty' then. What were you thinking at that moment? My thoughts were rather primitive. My gaze was drawn to Audrey's curves, the neckline of her dress... First and foremost, at that moment, I was a man, with all the vices and desires that go with that.

Mikael, aren't you repulsed by Audrey's new role? Has she certainly become more intense, thanks to the darkness within her? No, it doesn't repel me at all. Life rarely softens our hearts; more often, it hardens them.

Have you considered restoring Raphael's sight? I once asked him if he needed help with this, but he refused. My further attempts to restore his sight would only humiliate Raphael—he's capable of dealing with this on his own.

Are you driven by a sense of revenge or by the hopelessness of the situation? I'd say we're all driven by the desire to live. I don't feel any hopelessness.

Does Mikael have a favorite literary genre? I like historical novels and biographies of military leaders.

Does Mikael miss anything on Earth? If so, what exactly? Sometimes I catch myself missing the little things I'm used to, the gifts of civilization, like a cup of coffee and the morning newspaper. But in our circumstances, too many things are becoming luxuries again, and these are inevitable deprivations.

What's more important to Mikael now: duty or feelings? For me, feelings and duty are inseparable right now. And my duty is to give Audrey the life she deserves.

Do you believe that love can survive death? Now I do.

What season do you prefer the most? Fall, winter.

As we know, you don't share David's love of clubs, but if Audrey wanted to go with you, would you agree? If she had, I'm afraid I'd have no choice. I'm ready to accompany her anywhere.

What did you want to do when Audrey made you jealous of Malek and you stopped her as she was leaving the office? I had an overwhelming desire to kiss her and make her think only of me and my touch. I wanted her to crave more as much as I did.

Why don't you pay David his salary? 😁 Considering our abilities (particularly the influence of non-mortals), the number of years we've lived, and our limited needs for food, money has never been something we're desperately in need of. Besides, David made a good living from his legal hobby.

Aren't you afraid that a girl like Audrey might get bored with you, given that your interests and tastes are rather old-fashioned? I suspect that if that were a factor, I wouldn't have been attracted to Audrey in the first place.

Did you empathize with David in the scene with Azrael? Absolutely. I've always disliked Azrael, and David has long been more than just a subordinate to me.

I'm really curious to know how old you are in human years. I'd estimate my age at about 35 earth years.

Did you enjoy Raphael's instrumental playing, or did it sometimes get boring? I always genuinely enjoy Raphael's playing. Even when he was just learning his instruments, I was delighted to hear him perform endless etudes.

Tell me, what household chores do you enjoy doing most? I enjoy keeping everything clean, sorting and organizing things, and I enjoy cooking.

When you have a free moment, what other relaxation do you prefer besides bathing? If the bathroom is blocked, I prefer to relax with a book.

Could you handle a whole day of shopping with your loved one? I'd happily spend such a day with Audrey.

Do you have any home habits or rituals? I like to start my day with a cup of coffee. In the silence, I organize my thoughts and plan my day.

Do you find it easy to talk openly about your feelings? How easy is it for you to open up? I don't intentionally hide my feelings, but I can come across as rather reserved. However, opening up to Audrey was ridiculously easy.

If you had to go on a serious mission or a simple human expedition, which Astrean would you take along and why? Probably Cassiel. He seems like the most suitable candidate for the role to me. And, most importantly, he'd definitely enjoy it.

Have you ever thought about that unfinished "some historical novel" from 1*05? Did you finish it? I did... Alas, I couldn't finish it. Perhaps I'll get my hands on that book again someday.

What was your relationship with Avila like? Did you visit her grave a lot after she passed away (from your words in S2E1)? "What was your relationship with Avila like? Did you visit her grave often after she died (from your words in S2E1)?" Avila was my subordinate, and I feel guilty about what happened to her. I still visit her grave.

A night out with David or a long conversation with Malek? A conversation.

David had a photo of you sleeping at your desk, and there's still a chance he'll restore it. Do you have any humorous dirt on him? I don't quite understand, is this some kind of joke?.. Why would he need this photo?..

What else did you find interesting on your smartphone, besides business correspondence with colleagues? Admit it, something must have fascinated you at least a little about people's gadgets; maybe music, games, a subscription to a cooking blog, or some other rare hobby we don't know about? I'm probably old-fashioned in this regard and preferred to write down all my recipes by hand. I needed my phone exclusively for communication. I used my laptop for research.

What happened to that cozy mansion in the woods where you and Audrey spent an unforgettable night? I suspect it's in ruins.

Does each Astrean have a character trait that you particularly admire or find most pronounced? In Cassiel, I'd highlight his self-control, in David, his stubbornness, in Malek, his farsightedness, in Raphael, his empathy, and in Felonia, her determination.

Which of the Seven Sins best suits you? I think pride.

Which future with Audrey would you prefer—a quiet, peaceful one focused on your own family and shared happiness, or an active one focused on improving the world through joint efforts? Right now, I'd choose us and our happiness alone. But one without the other, most likely, can't be created.

Would you like to become a demon for a day? How would you spend that day? I don't think the color of my wings would change anything in my life. It seems to me that we're not that different.

What helps you calm down and clear your mind of unnecessary emotions? Silence, solitude, and time.

If you could have your own pet, what would it be? I'm indifferent to animals... I'd probably tame a bird, but I wouldn't keep it in a cage.

What was the scariest moment in your life? (Aside from Audrey's death) The death of my parents, Avila... Perhaps there's nothing scarier than death.

You have your own home on Earth. Did you personally design and decorate it? How do you envision your and Audrey's home together? Would it be on Earth or in Heaven? I designed the interior myself. I found that experience fascinating. I would first and foremost want to make our home with Audrey comfortable. And given recent events, it would most likely be in Heaven.

David mentioned that you used to look even more handsome, but service took a toll on you, is that right? I think he was joking. Yeah... I suspect it was a joke…

Raphael views you as a brother. What do you think of that? His feelings are mutual.

Mikael, tell me, what kind of father would you be, given your sometimes stern nature? More strict or gentler? I think strict.

You don't eat breakfast with the Astreans because you do your hair in the morning? I get up early, and unfortunately, we don't usually run into each other. I do my hair pretty quickly.

Would you call the Astreans your family? You seem like a strict but loving father to these sometimes noisy and very different children. That's a funny association... Perhaps there's something to it. And, of course, over the years, we've become more like family than just colleagues.

What is Shephamalum's relationship with you personally, Mikael? I suspect I'm nothing more than a faceless pawn to him. He keeps me, like the others, close to him as long as I am useful.

Why do you call Audrey ā€˜my soul’? Because Audrey filled my life with new meaning, added color, awakened desire in me... She became much more than just a companion; she is a part of my life, and I can't imagine myself without her.

What's more important? Feelings or composure? It depends on the situation. In bed, feelings; in war, composure.

Mikael, why did you decide to grow your hair? And what do you think of modern hairstyles? Do you like some of them or are they repulsive? Are you considering changing your hairstyle, and why? I've had long hair my whole life. I've never thought about changing it. I find this length the most comfortable.

If Audrey offered you the chance to quit your job at Shephamalum and run away right now, would you agree? And if so, where would you go? No. That would be reckless and very likely disastrous for both of us.

For a while, I've been tormented by the question of how healing works: do you need to know exactly what you're healing, or does the power itself find vulnerable spots? How come, by taking Audrey's pain with your touch after the Furius's attack, you didn't heal her from the poisoning that had become fatal? Yes, I need to know what I'm doing to channel the power. At that moment, the poison hadn't yet taken effect; I simply didn't feel it, and I was treating Audrey for the wounds I saw and the pain I felt.

Do you think Naum and your parents would have liked Audrey? I'm sure they would have.

Do you generally braid your hair or tie it up with a clip from time to time? I prefer a ponytail to a braid.

My question is something you'd never admit to, but will you admit it here? Since we're not in confession, I'll refrain. Secrets should remain secrets.

Which Astrean would you be able to survive with if the apocalypse happened, even if you weren't Celestials? Any of them. I can trust my life to either of them.

What explains such a significant difference in your attitude towards David and Felonia during your time at the agency? Shouldn't they both have fought on Azrael's side in their time? Or is there something we're missing? David wasn't Azrael's mercenary. He didn't choose his role as his successor and never supported his father's ideas, although he never openly opposed him.

Was there a desire to dissuade Naum from his actions and views? A long time ago, there were both desire and attempts.

Mikael, you look divine! I'm very curious about your feelings about tattoos and piercings. Would you like any? Thank you. I'm indifferent to piercings and tattoos; I wouldn't want any for myself.

What do you think about Malek now being your boss? Do you enjoy working under him, in terms of comfort? Do you get any bonuses or incentives? Malek isn't my boss...

Don't you think Malek is more than happy working with you and expresses this very clearly? What do you think about this? It seems to me that very few things upset Malek. He knows how to turn everything into something beneficial and find the positive.

Dear Mikael, I have a question: what are your favorite flowers? I prefer red roses.

How did you discover your gift of healing? Who was the first person you were able to heal? I discovered my gift of healing by accident, back in childhood. I found a wounded bird and sincerely wanted to help it.

How did you react when you first learned about your mission on Earth? Without any unnecessary emotion. For me, it was just another assignment, nothing more.

What colours and shades do you like on Audrey? Light, delicate ones (blue, white) or deeper and darker ones, like burgundy and emerald? How do you feel about her now wearing somber, mostly black clothes, without her former colours? Audrey is beautiful even in somber outfits. I'd even say I prefer deep necklines and full-length skirts much more than modern suits... As for shades, I'd avoid overly bright, acidic ones. However, that's purely my taste, and it may not align with my beloved's, but I can easily live with that.

Was it easier for you to get along with Cassiel or Avila? Did she do anything particularly memorable for you and the others? I'd say Cassiel and Avila are ideal warriors and employees. I've never had any complaints about their work. Avila, however, liked to bring all sorts of animals into the house, but we had to put up with that.

Have you noticed Malek's particular interest in you? If so, have you ever wondered what might have caused this? Abaddon is generally quite curious by nature, and his curiosity certainly extends beyond me.

If you had the opportunity to resign from your leadership position, would you take it? Only if it meant I could resign.

If you could only choose one of your subordinates to work with, who would it be? I wouldn't be upset if that role went to any of the Astreans. But if I had to choose, I'd choose Raphael.

What's the most valuable life lesson you've ever learned? The Heavens gave me the most valuable lesson, helping me rethink the concept of duty.

Are you happy? Sometimes, yes. It's easy to capture that moment if you don't expect too much from happiness. It's in the little things and the moments.

What did you think when you saw Audrey sleeping in your office? I thought about how much she must trust me to fall asleep so easily in my office.

I remember you promised Audrey a homemade breakfast, but she cooked it for you that morning. Should we expect your culinary delights? I think the burnt dinner was to blame… Audrey decided not to risk our breakfast and volunteered to cook it herself. And, frankly, when I looked at her, clad only in my shirt, food was the last thing on my mind… As for future dates—I certainly hope to surprise Audrey with something delicious.

I noticed that the agency's kitchen looks quite modern, but your organization has been around for quite some time, so I'm curious which of the Astreans was responsible for the renovations, who was the main initiator of introducing modern technology into your home and life in general? Cassiel is the most hands-on of us. If anything was renovated in the common areas of the house, it was usually his doing. But, of course, everyone handled their own work in their bedrooms. As for any initiatives, that was David's prerogative. Major changes were always initiated by him—I rarely interfered, trusting his taste. Anyway, one day I simply walked into the renovated kitchen.

Mikael, hello! I have a question: when you first heard from Cassiel about what happened to his sister, what thoughts ran through your mind? What did you think about it? Did Cassiel let you see that terrible scene through memories? Thank you in advance for your answer. Of course, I felt pain for both of us, and this pain will stay with me for the rest of my life. The loss of Avila is an irreparable loss for us all. It wasn't right away, but Cassiel showed me what had happened. I helped him bury his sister's remains and often thought about how I could have prevented it, sitting in the garden by her grave.

I really like your style. Elegant, yet tasteful and unpretentious. Do you design your own outfits and personal style? Thank you! I'm quite conservative in my choices; I choose my own outfits.

How much do the Astreans distrust you when it comes to cooking? I've never thought about it... I think I should ask my colleagues this question… Although, I doubt that any of them are capable of distracting me from the stove, like Audrey was able to on our date)

Hello, what was your first impression of Astrea and its layout as a place where you'll live for a long time? Did you have any desire to add anything to the decor of the house or garden? The first thing I remember when I arrived at Astrea was the silence. The house was so quiet, as if we'd all found ourselves in the grave of its previous owner. Only after a while did Raphael's music begin to echo within its walls, and the birdsong in the garden, which attracted Avila. And when David came among us, I could only think of that former silence with nostalgia and start looking for a house in the forest. As for the decor, it's always suited me.

What do you think of Bruno? Do you think an Archangel could befriend a hellhound? Hellhounds are wonderful creatures, and I see no reason not to like Bruno. Unless, of course, you want to harm his owner. Becoming friends with a hellhound isn't easy, but I'm sure few would refuse such a loyal friend. But, to be honest, I've never tried.

If I had to choose between a cat and a dog, which would you choose? And what breed? Or maybe color? I've never had any desire to get a pet. But if I had to choose, I think I'd choose a dog. An Afghan Hound, cream-colored.

If you asked Audrey for her hand in marriage and she accepted, what kind of wedding would you have: a lavish affair with tons of guests or a small, intimate affair just for the two of you? I'd like it to be elegant and understated, with a limited number of guests.

Do you like baths? What are your favorite bath oils? Lavender, rose, pomegranate.

How do you feel about Audrey's new strength, the darkness within her? Positively, because this darkness has resurrected her. And it doesn't make Audrey different, it makes her stronger.

It's known that your food preferences are quite specific. What do you think of molecular gastronomy? Molecular gastronomy made a great impression on me at the time; it seemed like a true art form to me. Breaking down flavor into its particles and then reassembling them, embodying them in a different form, giving the ordinary taste completely new, unexpected nuances... It's amazing.

First, I'd like to compliment you on how incredibly charming you are. I'd also like to ask a question. What position did you hold in Heaven before your mission? Perhaps you were closer to Shepha? I hope you'll answer my question.ā¤ļø Thank you for the compliment! For a long time, I was the commander-in-chief of the Heavenly army, but my main duty was to protect the Heavens. Therefore, my activities weren't limited to battles and strategizing, because, fortunately, wars tend to end. At some point, I was sent to serve on Earth.

I never wanted to be closer to Shepha; what I had was enough for me.

What weapon do you like the best? What's the most comfortable to use in combat? I like a sword, but in combat, it's better to use force and try to avoid close encounters.

It's no secret that you enjoy unusual delicacies. But perhaps you have a favorite dish among the more familiar cuisine. Which one would you choose? A vegetable stew my mother used to make.

What time of day do you prefer, when you feel a certain lightness and peace? Early morning, while everyone else in the mansion is still asleep.

Let's imagine that when Astrea's mansion was burning, and if Abaddon hadn't taken you to the Pit and you managed to escape, what would you have returned for? And does such a thing exist? No, nothing like that occurred to me. The only truly important thing was the Book of Apocalypse, but Audrey took it.

I have no doubt about your angelic beauty, but let me ask a question... Out of curiosity, did you use any hair care products on Earth? Sometimes, when time permits, I do. It helps me relax. But it's more of a whim than a necessity.

A chance to become anyone: human, angel, demon. Who and why? I'd stay myself. It used to make sense to become human, for the sake of living with Audrey, but that's irrelevant now.

Do immortals have a place protected from both humans and immortals (possibly using concealment amulets or seals) where you could hide and live a happy life? I'm sure there is. But I wouldn't want to hide. While it's possible, I prefer to fight.

Tell me, did you have a favorite toy as a child, or perhaps just a thing that was especially precious to you? My father's ring is a memento of him. It stayed with Naum.

Do you have a favorite dessert? And what's your attitude toward sweets in general? I have a positive attitude. I like various mousses and dark chocolate.

Let's imagine things were completely different... Audrey is simply an unclaimed and attends the Angels and Demons Academy, and you were her teacher. Do you think you'd fall in love with her just as much? Would you break school rules as a teacher for that love? I have no doubt I'd love her in any role. And I'd break any taboo for that love.

Do you let Audrey touch your wings? I'm just really curious; the feathers are probably very soft, which I'm sure they are. I dream of touching them too, and I even envy her. If you don't mind, could you share how sensitive they are to touch? I allow it, of course, but for her, as a human, there's something more reverent than intimate about this act. As for sensations, the wings are quite sensitive.

What clothes do you like to see Audrey in more: the ones she's wearing now or the ones she used to wear? I prefer the fashions of the Heavens.

What do you think about most often when you're alone in silence? About the future. What steps must be taken to ensure the path leads us to the desired end. I often think about Audrey, about her role in all of this. I try not to dwell too much on the past.

Tell me, when was it more difficult for you to manage Astreans, on Earth or now in the Heavens? Perhaps it's more difficult now.

How often did you spend time with your colleagues, just to chat, and did you spend time with each of them individually (David, Cassiel, Raphael) having casual conversations outside of work? And please tell us how it was šŸ™šŸ„¹ Yes, of course, that happened. One time, we all agreed to pose for Raphael's portrait. It was an unusual, peaceful time, akin to meditation for all of us. We often paused by the living room door to listen to him play... I think Raphael could be called our connecting link. There were evenings that I whiled away in the fireplace with David and a glass of wine. Our conversations were rare, but they did happen... and they were good times. With Cassiel, we were often silent when we met alone at Avila's grave. And even those melancholy encounters with them, I miss.

How does it feel to know how many beautiful female readers are in love with you? It's hard to believe... But I'm certainly pleased. Thank you for trusting me with your hearts. And thank you for your questions 🌹
