Safer seas, worth my time or not?

so I work a lot and I wanna play sea of thieves and enjoy myself, I've heard safer seas is good but I also remember hearing that like, I only get 30% of my loot? I'm not new but i remember that if I'm just playing for fun getting 100k can take a while

basically can I play safer seas and not have to do heavy grinds to make gold or am I gonna have to play for like 7 hours straight just to break even and make a little money in the game?
