My roommates socks are creating a lint MONSTER. How do I stop this?

First time living alone and my roommate's fuzzy socks leave a TON of lint. Like, the trap is full after one load. I have to clean it mid-cycle. Is this normal or are her socks just cheap? A little worried about it being a fire hazard tbh.
