Universal Credit work allowance – LCWRA only or LCW as well?
Hi all,
I’m trying to understand how the work allowance works under Universal Credit.
If someone is assessed as having:
- Limited Capability for Work (LCW)
- Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA)
Do both groups qualify for a work allowance, or is it only one of them?
Also, in the case of a joint UC account, do both partners need to be awarded LCW/LCWRA for the work allowance to be included?
I understand the work allowance is the amount you can earn before your UC starts being reduced, but I’m unclear whether it applies to LCW only, LCWRA only, or both.
Thanks in advance!
