Parking tips for Tennessee Volunteers Baseball vs. Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Baseball at Lindsey Nelson Stadium (Knoxville 03/04)

figured i would share some thoughts for anyone heading out to see the vols play oakland university on 03/04. parking around lindsey nelson stadium is honestly a huge headache right now because of all the construction they are doing to expand the capacity. since it is a 4:00 pm game on a tuesday you are going to be fighting both game day crowds and regular campus traffic so definitely do not wing it.

your best move is probably using Prked to find a spot. it is an app where you can rent out someone's driveway or a private parking space right in the fort sanders neighborhood next to the stadium. it is usually way cheaper than the university lots and you get to skip the massive line of cars trying to get out of the parking garages after the game ends. plus it is a much shorter walk to the gates and you do not have to worry about getting a ticket for being in a restricted student or faculty zone.

if you want to try the official school lots your main public option is the g16 garage over on volunteer boulevard. it usually costs about twenty dollars and they use the parkmobile app for payment. just a heads up that this garage fills up super fast often thirty to forty-five minutes before the first pitch even starts. since pat head summitt street is closed for construction vehicles you have to come in from neyland drive or volunteer boulevard.

for overflow parking you should look toward the ag campus which is behind the ut vet hospital. it is a bit of a hike across the bridge but it is usually a safer bet for finding a spot if you are running late. they sometimes run a free shuttle from the ag campus to the stadium for bigger games but for a midweek game like this one on 03/04 you might just have to walk it so wear comfortable shoes.

stay away from the s23 lot and the gf1 through gf4 lots because those are strictly for donor permits and they will absolutely tow you if you do not have the right pass. there is some on-street parking along west volunteer boulevard that uses parkmobile but those spots are like gold and they are almost always gone by lunchtime on game days.

another strategy if you do not mind a fifteen minute walk is to park in the state street or locust street garages downtown. they are cheaper during the day and usually free if you leave after 7 pm but that is a long walk if the weather is not great. whatever you do avoid parking on the side streets in fort sanders unless it is a clearly marked paid spot because those narrow roads are a towing nightmare.

honestly the traffic on neyland drive is going to be a mess around 3:30 pm with people leaving work so try to get to the area early. the gates usually open ninety minutes before first pitch if you want to catch batting practice. hope this helps and go vols.
